Successful Annual Meeting in Nymindegab

With a lively academic discussion, an interesting excursion in the local area near Varde and many interesting presentations, 50 dNmark researchers and stakeholders were gathered together at the Annual Meeting in the dNmark alliance the 9th to 10th of March on Nymindegab Kro.

There was great commitment among the participants at the annual meeting of the dNmark alliance. The meeting was held in a beautiful setting on Nymindegab Kro and collaborators from both universities, municipalities, organizations and private companies took part in a two-day program focusing on utilization of nitrogen.

The program included a field trip on the first day in Varde pilot area where the participants visited Filsø and a pig farm owned by Asger Pedersen and an organic dairy farm by Flemming Kristensen. The tour ended at the switching point for Nøreng Plantation, where the participants were briefed on the Naturpark Vesterhavet.

On the second day, participants were welcomed by Alliance Leader Tommy Dalgaard from Aarhus University with a presentation of the alliance’s activities. Then the mayor from Varde Munnicipality, Erik Buhl Nielsen welcome welcomed the alliance’s initiatives. The municipality has a strong focus on local development and has the ambition to become a developing outer edge municipality.

Development and Innovation was also the focal point of the day, when there were presentations regarding new possibilities of land regulation in agriculture and solution scenarios for local landscape development among other things.
