6 – Solution Scenarios

Research package 6 focuses on developing 3 different scenarios for optimising the nitrogen cycle.

In the alliance we will illuminate how nitrogen affects agriculture, environment and climate. Our focus is especially on finding solutions to the problem of nitrogen loss. In Denmark we have come a long way in the process of reducing nitrogen loss, but more can be done and we have to continue to improve. So we have to seek new perspectives to old problems and identify new solutions.

In research package 6 we will analyse these solutions with three types of solution scenarios, which will also form basis for analyses performed in the other research packages. The solution scenarios will include production chains with more efficient nitrogen utilisation and recirculation, geographically targeted measures, and a change in consumption patterns, which supports more closed nitrogen cycles.
